@belletoscan and @tristanbogaard designed this route, which is divided into different Komoot highlights, so riders of the West Loop route have a choice between following the original bikepacking.com route (taking you over two rough 1000m mountain passes) or the 'Soča variant'–a route specifically designed for ease and adventure down (or up) the Soča river valley. It stays away from the main road, has a mix of surfaces and is doable for gravel bikes and anything up from 38mm tires. Includes some short hike-a-biking sections, very nice views and most of all a nearly traffic-free experience!

Adventurous alternative route without all the tour traffic. Parts are very(!) steep. September '24 it is mostly gravel, still work (although quiet on weekends). Suitable for MTB (although it went quite well with slicks🙃).
