Today's Deutzen was built west of the old town on the charred terrain of the 1960-1963 closed Deutzen mine (Force II). The area of Old Deutzen is today occupied by the reservoir Borna, popularly called Adria, which is fed with water of the Pleiße for the purpose of flood protection.
