Through the eerily beautiful valley of misery along the Kalte Bode, past the enchanted snoring cliffs and swampy Schluftwiesen, the 26-kilometer-long Harzer Teufelsstieg leads you on rooty paths and over the Brocken down into the mystical Eckertal to the spa town of Bad Harzburg. Inspired by Goethe's masterpiece Faust I, you walk in the footsteps of Mephisto and Doctor Faust and take the steepest paths up the Blocksberg, where witches and devils rage on Walpurgis Night.
