On the country road between Hermannsburg and Müden (Örtze), the 102 meter high Wietzer Berg rises gently. From here you have a wonderful view of the Örtzetal and one of the most beautiful heath areas in the Südheide Nature Park.

Here the famous heath poet Hermann Löns is said to have enjoyed the peace and nature of the heath many times. The Lönsstein stands on a heath near the summit, a monument commemorating the heath poet.
