Battelik is a microbrewery and distillery, a place where the Battelaar and all passers-by can drop by to have a drink, dine well and meet each other in a casual atmosphere. More info on battelik.be. An initiative of brewery Het Anker from Mechelen

Batteliek is a Mechelen microbrewery, microdistillery, and lemonade housed in a former church.
It's a wondrous place where alchemy and industry intertwine. Let your senses be captivated by the experimental kitchen and drinks, where new flavors are developed through trial and error.

The original Holy Cross Chapel, one of the first parish centers of Mechelen, located on the Hogeweg, was destroyed in 1580; in 1627 it was replaced by a church dedicated to Saint Joseph, which in turn was demolished in 1798. The current neoclassical hall church dates from 1862-1867. The choir was last enlarged in 1900.
Meanwhile, the church is back renovation.
