Hiking
This chapel on the Houzendgat in Houwaart (Tielt-Winge) is dedicated to Saint Joseph. The rectangular brick chapel is shaded by two large lime trees. The chapel, which is not protected, was recently restored.

Hiking
The chapel dates from 1846 and was renovated for the first time in 1946, on the occasion of its hundredth anniversary. In 2009 it was renewed again and is beautifully decorated, dedicated to "H. Joseph, Patron of Belgium". There is a procession in March.

Hiking
Fact: thyme, large thyme, a native species, grows near the chapel. Because it is quite rare, people ask that you only visit the chapel via the small stone stairs. Read the text of deacon Luc Claeys from 2021 at kerktieltwinge.org/2021/01/provencaals-vezeltje-aan-de-sint.html
