My children delighted at finding 10p on the top of Cowpers Cross. Well it was 40 years ago. Now I always leave a couple of pounds there just to let some child have that same delight

Hiking

Parts of this cross date back to 12th century. I say parts because Cowper's cross originally was a pagan monolith, which later became "Christianised" with additional stones being added to turn it into a cross which still stands today (despite several vandalism attempts and lightning damage).

Extremely well-preserved cross with carvings. Very easy to reach from the old Keighley Road.
