Johann Carl von Ruppenthal (1767-1798) was the last bailiff at the Wildenburg. He had the Kempfelder farmers locked up in the church because of a dispute over tax revenue. When the bailiff left the town on horseback, courageous women threatened him and helped their husbands to regain freedom. This scene gave rise to the design of the fountain in Kempfeld.
