The church was built in 1964. Earlier, people went to the church of Kronprinzenkoog, which was quite arduous. There was a rumor that Friedrichskoog would perish in a storm surge if it had its own church. And in 1962, the year the foundation stone was laid, there was indeed a heavy tide. But until today the church stands and is well visited by the population. In 2014 she received the name Christuskirche.
