Corredor verde del Aljarafe is one of the few natural areas close to Seville - a ~20 km "green lung" along the banks of the Riopudio stream. The name "Pudio" of the river comes from the Latin word "putidus" - putrefied, because in Roman times the river passed through sulfur deposits that gave it this characteristic smell.
