The Capuchin Gate is one of the most famous historical structures in Rottenburg am Neckar.

🏰 A medieval city gate and part of the former city fortifications.

It's located on the edge of the old town, towards the Neckar River.

The name comes from the nearby Capuchin monastery (formerly located there). The gate once served to control access to the city and protect it. Today, it's primarily a landmark and a popular subject for photographs, especially beautiful in combination with the old town.

The only preserved city gate in the district Ehingen. The building dates from the 14th century, with a later half-timbered floor. Formerly the 1622/25 built monastery of the mendicant order of the Capuchins lay before the gate.
