For Stadtlengsfeld and the surrounding area potash mining was very important. The district Menzengraben was created as a result of a potash mine. In the potash plant of the Stadtlengsfelder district Menzengraben was from 1916 to 1966 potash promoted. Many families were able to secure a new income.

Cycling

The Menzengraben is a side valley of the Felda River in the Rhön. At the beginning of the 20th century, an industrial settlement was built nearby, which was given the field name. The latter was created in 1911 as a miners' settlement. Potassium salt had been explored underground, which belongs to the so-called Werra potash district. Shafts, storage and processing facilities and a connection to the Feldabahn were built
