The fountain's strange name is easy to explain, as the fountain was erected in 1913 to honor city councilor Robert Zipper and mayor Johann Friedrich Müller. The two were very committed to the beautification of the city of Chemnitz, and they were responsible for the redesign of the castle pond into a beautiful park. The fountain is made of shell limestone and was created by Bruno Spieß. Four allegorical figures support a large fountain bowl. In 2002/03 the fountain, which had suffered greatly from weathering, was restored.
