The water tower, at over 45 meters, is the tallest structure in Pegau. It was built in 1906 according to plans by Otto Enke, a Leipzig-based architect who was born in Pegau. As a nod to the remarkable history of his hometown, he gave it the form of the Vestner Tower of the old Nuremberg Imperial Castle. The water tower's function is to compensate for fluctuating water consumption via an elevated reservoir, ensuring a constant water pressure. The reservoir has a capacity of 140 cubic meters.
