At the end of the old village stands what is probably the oldest church in the village of Steinedal. The Gothic hall church was built from field and bricks in the 14th and 15th years. St. Jacobi is bigger and more splendid than the Petrikirche. The stained glass windows from the 14th and 15th centuries, the choir stalls from 1430, the choir screen with figures of apostles from the 15th century and the high altar with painted sandstone figures from 1612 are particularly worth seeing. The church is the destination of the St. Jacobus pilgrimage route through Saxony-Anhalt.

The Jacobikirche is the second of the three major churches in Stendal. It dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. Its tower was built between 1893 and 1901 and replaces the original tower that collapsed in 1808.
