Embark on an easy hike along the Mirror Lake Paved Trail, a gentle route spanning 1.1 miles (1.8 km) with a modest elevation gain of 104 feet (32 metres). You can expect to complete this loop in about 29 minutes, offering a peaceful escape into nature. As you walk, you will find yourself surrounded by the valley's grandeur, with views of iconic formations like Half Dome and Washington Column. The paved surface makes for a smooth journey, allowing you to focus on the scenery around you.
To reach the trailhead, you will need to use the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle, disembarking at stop #17. There is no direct parking available at the trailhead, so plan your visit accordingly. Be aware that during the colder months, specifically winter and early spring, parts of the trail, especially the south side of the loop, can become icy and snowy. Always check conditions before you go and exercise caution if you encounter slippery sections.
This trail is particularly special in spring and early summer when Tenaya Creek flows abundantly, filling Mirror Lake. During these times, the lake truly lives up to its name, providing stunning reflections of the towering cliffs and surrounding landscape.
