The medieval fortress sits on a small island at the western end of Trapani's harbor and is an impressive sight due to its long history dating back to the First Punic War. The view of the fishing boats in the harbor and the majestic walls of the Colombaia make the run particularly atmospheric - especially in the early morning or late afternoon hours when the light softly falls on the scene.
