Who is Opsinjoorke? Opsinjoorke is the Mechelen mascot. He is part of the Mechelse Ommegang (every 25 years). The doll refers to drunkards and women walkers who were thrown into the air as punishment. Frans Van den Brande (°1935) made the bronze version of this statue in 1988.
