Breda was liberated by Polish soldiers on October 29, 1944. Since then Breda has had a close relationship with Poland and relatively many descendants of Polish soldiers live in Breda. A few kilometers west of the city center is the Polish Cemetery, where the fallen Polish soldiers are buried. Every year, around October 29, Breda reflects on the courageous actions of our liberators and a ceremony takes place at the cemetery
