I arrived at Colle del Finestre around 7pm and was in a wonderful mood as the sun broke through the clouds. Had something to eat at the Rifugio on the Pian dell'Alpe and then stayed at the small campsite.

Pian dell'Alpe is a plateau located in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park, reachable along the Assietta military road. The area includes a small lake and some farmhouses, it is also a suitable place for walks and picnics.

It can be reached along the road with little traffic that starts from Balboutet. Junction point for Colle delle Finestre (asphalted) and Strada dell'Assietta (dirt road not always compact).
