In the 21st century, the Mauritshuis has become an information centre for the Zuiderwaterlinie. There is tourist information and explanations about the history of Willemstad and the Waterlinie. In the attic, a large exhibition of the local history society "de Willemstad" can be viewed. There is also a "canon room", in which the military history of Willemstad is told by means of a performance. Furthermore, the Burgemeesterskamer, the Gouverneurskamer and the Raadszaal can be viewed.

Because the building is still one of the wedding locations of the municipality of Moerdijk, many couples get married in the Mauritshuis every year.

A beautiful wedding location.

The Mauritshuis in Willemstad was built in 1623 by order of Prince Maurits, son of William of Orange. He had the building built from "his own funds" to use as a country residence and hunting lodge. The building was named Prinsenhof
