Geodetic reference points are control points for checking GNSS receivers.
In public and easily accessible places, certain checkpoints were installed with centimeter precision. These checkpoints can be used to check the accuracy of GNSS receivers. To do this, the GNSS receiver is placed on the corresponding marking of the control point and the measured coordinates are compared with the target coordinates specified at the control point. The coordinates are given in the WGS-84, ETRS89 and, if necessary, also in the Gauß-Krüger or UTM coordinate system of the respective meridian strip.
