For the city's 1800th anniversary in 2023, the Alzeyer Museum gained a futuristic-looking hall in which its most valuable Roman stone finds are exhibited. Because the first mention of Alzey goes back to a Roman nymph altar from the 3rd century discovered in 1783. The Nymphenstein and many other statues, column fragments and stone monuments from the time when the Roman spa was flourishing can be viewed in the stone hall.

The new stone hall is attached to the Alzey Museum.
There was a heated debate about the architecture and costs.
But it is definitely worth a visit!
The Alzey Museum is also very interesting and lovingly designed.
If you are visiting Alzey and are a little interested in history, you should definitely go to this museum.
Admission is free (donations are of course welcome).
You will spend more time in the museum than planned ;-)

Modern extension to the Alzey City Museum, in which the Roman spolia from Alzey and the surrounding area are presented like in a "jewelry box".
