The Eagle's Nest Loop Trail offers a refreshing escape into the Spring Mountains, starting with a shaded ascent through tall pine and juniper trees. As you progress, the route opens into a high mountain meadow, providing spectacular panoramic views up and down Kyle Canyon, including distant vistas of the Las Vegas Valley and prominent peaks like Griffith Peak and Charleston Peak. You'll experience a mix of forested and open terrain, making for a varied and engaging hike.

This easy-to-moderate 2.8-mile (4.6 km) loop, with 367 feet (112 metres) of elevation gain, can be completed in about 1 hour and 18 minutes. The trail is situated in the Kyle Canyon area, with altitudes above 7,000 feet, so be mindful of potential altitude sickness. While generally easy-going, there's a short, steep initial climb with loose gravel when branching off the Fletcher Canyon Trail, which might test novices. Spring is ideal for wildflowers, and the higher elevation offers a cool retreat in summer.

Beyond the stunning views, the trail is excellent for conditioning due to its altitude and varied terrain. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including deer, various bird species like the Rock Wren and Dusky Flycatcher, lizards, and chipmun. The route beautifully showcases the effect of altitude on plant life, transitioning from dense forest to open mountain meadows, making it a notable example of the region's diverse ecosystems.
