The church was built from 1904 to 1905 to a design by the Pirna architect Theodor Quentin in the style of historicism and consecrated on October 22, 1905 in the presence of the Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. The construction cost amounted to 38,000 Mark, which raised the parish itself (Wikipedia).
