The small pebbly beach on the southern shore of Grasmere is a great place to pause on a run. If you fancy a swim or just a paddle it's a good place to start. Runners often pass here running a loop of Grasmere and Rydal Water or the Loughrigg loop, both are brilliant loops.

The shores of Grasmere can get quite busy at weekends and in the summer due to it being low level and accessible, you can keep up a little higher on Loughrigg Terrace but worth a visit to the shore as its a beautiful view! Quite hard to run on though.
