Embark on an easy hike along the Sloan Gorge Trail, a delightful 1.3-mile (2.0 km) route that guides you through a distinctive canyon. You will gain a gentle 67 feet (20 metres) in elevation, making this a perfect adventure for beginners or families, typically completed in about 32 minutes. As you explore, you will find yourself surrounded by mixed forests and picturesque hemlock stands, leading into a gorge with dramatic cliffs and cool rock formations.

Parking is conveniently available at the preserve's entrance, making your access to the trailhead straightforward. While the trail is generally easy to follow, be prepared for sections within the gorge that can be wet and muddy, sometimes requiring you to hop across rocks. This route is ideal for a short, refreshing walk when you are looking for a gentle outdoor experience.

What makes this trail particularly special is its unique geological character, featuring impressive riverstone rock faces and a narrow split in the rocks known as "The Chimney." Field guides are often provided at the trailhead, offering insights into the fascinating geological history of the area. This trail provides a wonderful opportunity to experience a varied landscape and discover interesting natural formations.
