How can a forest exist on top of a Mediterranean city? The Forêt des Pierres Blanches is not an ancient relic, but the result of a progressive reforestation of the slopes of Mont Saint-Clair in the 20th century, on former agricultural and pastoral land.
Today, this wooded massif of pines and scrubland has become a protected area where nature has reclaimed its rights. Visitors can enjoy the shaded paths and the viewpoints overlooking the sea, the Étang de Thau, and the lido.
