Hiking

The Maarsseveense Plassen were created as a result of sand extraction and now form a wonderful recreational area for the people of Utrecht. You can enjoy walking around the water, but fishermen and swimmers can also visit the recreational area.

Hiking

The recreation area consists of the Grote Plas, a rectangular recreation lake of approximately 2000 x 500 metres, and the Kleine Plas, which is mainly visited by fishermen and people who walk their dogs. Both were created by sand extraction in the 1960s for the construction of the Utrecht wijk Overvecht.
