The University of Helmstedt (Academia Julia or Academia Julia Carolina or "academia helmstadiensis") was from 1576 to 1810. It came out of a Pedagogus Illustre, which had been founded in 1571 in Gandersheim and relocated to Helmstedt on July 6, 1574.
