On September 10th, 2017, it was ceremonially inaugurated after its predecessor was the victim of a city fire about 180 years ago. The column is almost six meters high and is made of Blumenthaler granite. A lighting system puts it in the limelight even in the dark. In Auerbach it is one of the most admired pieces of jewellery.
