Commemorative obélisque on the top of a small hill near the old bassin of Naurouze. The gate was close but we can see it from a small distance as well as some explanation.

Gravel riding

The obelisk of Naurouze was built between 1825 and 1827 in honor of Riquet, on the stones of Naurouze, and measures 20 meters high. The Naurouze threshold, whose symbol is the obelisk, constitutes the highest point of the Canal du Midi, which connects the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, and separates the Massif Central (to the north) from the Pyrenees (to the south).
