These glacial pots were created by the meltwater that flowed under the ice on the rock surface. In some sections of the route, such meltwater runoffs can reach up to 200 km / h. This creates local eddies that mill out these deep funnel-like structures, not least because they carry sand and gravel. The theory that an erratic boulder in the water is working out the glacier pots like a millstone is now disproved.
