Two people with stunt kites stand as bronze figures on the banks of the Outer Alster, two children or a father with his child. The sculpture by Gerhard Brandes is very familiar to many Hamburgers, as it has been in the Alsterpark for over fifty years. The two people go about their leisure activities quite carefree and gain their artistic expression through the harmonious consonance of their postures. Although both stand motionless, the depiction appears lively and open thanks to the two swollen dragons and the outstretched arms.
