Hiking
Between 1934 and 1938, the lake was dug by hand by the Reich Labor Service on the orders of the National Socialists. The water level of Lake Rantzauer is regulated by damming the Krückau, which feeds it. This intervention in nature and the associated interruption of the hiking trail for the local fish world caused problems in the past. Therefore, in 1981, a nine-stage fish ladder was built at the weir on the castle island, via which the fish could now continue their migration to the upper spawning grounds. (Source: Wikipedia)
