Here the EV6 is submerged by the Danube. On the opposite side you can see Visegrad Castle. In the 13th century, King Béla IV of Hungary and his wife had a new fortification system built on the destroyed structures. The most important part was the Upper Castle on the hill. The castle walls had a triangular plan on five terraces and three corner towers (Wikipedia).

In Nagymaros is located one of the most picturesque sections of the EuroVelo 6 (EV6) in Hungary. The route leads here directly through the famous Danube Bend (Dunakanyar), where the river makes a distinctive curve through the Visegrád Mountains.
