    Embark on the Gold Mountain and Pacific Crest Trail Loop, a challenging hike spanning 11.3 miles (18.2 km) with a significant elevation gain of 1563 feet (476 metres). You can expect to spend around 5 hours and 16 minutes completing this difficult route. The trail begins by winding through a burn area, offering wide-open views before you climb into chaparral dotted with trees. As you ascend, you will encounter a series of long switchbacks and a small boulder field. From the summit of Gold Mountain, you'll be rewarded with expansive vistas looking out towards Baldwin Lake and the surrounding lower peaks of the San Bernardino Mountains. The section along the Pacific Crest Trail provides a different feel, with more moderate grades.
