    Mountain biking

Not recommended for gravel/touring/... bikes. Amazed mountain bikers like it tbh, it was probably 80-90% hike-a-bike. Very steppy. Beautiful though!

    Mountain biking

Very pretty, but wouldn't recommend trying to cycle it.

    Mountain biking

As with so much of the singletrack that edges the wast side of Loch Lomond, this is excellent.

Fast and flowy at times; edgy, steppy and tricky at others, its always testing - especially when it's wet. Expect some hike-a-bike along here, it can be pretty slow going.

And being largely flat, it's also good in either direction.

Embark on a challenging mountain biking adventure through the Loch Arklet, Loch Chon and Inversnaid Falls loop, a difficult 19.8-mile (31.8 km) route that demands skill and stamina. You will gain 1934 feet (590 metres) of elevation over an estimated 3 hours and 6 minutes, traversing a mix of flowing singletrack and fire roads. Experience the wild beauty of the Scottish Highlands, with stunning views across Loch Lomond and a thrilling descent towards the impressive Inversnaid Falls.

Planning your ride requires acknowledging the route's difficult rating, which corresponds to STS S3 - S6 on the Single Track Scale, meaning advanced riding skills are essential. Be prepared for sections where you might need to dismount and push your bike, especially in wet conditions or technical areas. Parking is generally available near the start point, but always check local signage for current regulations before you go.

This loop offers a comprehensive exploration of the diverse terrain within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It stands out for its combination of technical challenges and the breathtaking Highland scenery, providing expansive vistas across Loch Lomond to iconic peaks like Ben Lomond and The Cobbler. The route's unique character is further defined by its passage past the beautiful Loch Arklet and Loch Chon, culminating in the memorable Inversnaid Falls.
