The Deuringer Heide in Stadtbergen, as a former military training area („Panzerkessel“), hosts an exceptional flora and fauna, which originated from military use. Driving with heavy equipment compacted the soil and created a wide heathland with a high moor character, which is considered a valuable biotope today.
