    Hiking

The cable car connects Trento with the village of Sardagna (600 meters above sea level), from where there is a splendid panorama of the Adige Valley (the valley station is near the S. Lorenzo bridge, the fare is the same as for urban transport). Tickets are available at the bus terminal and newsstands.

    Cycling

According to the timetable, it should be possible to take bicycles with you at certain times, but we haven't tried it.
On the next tour with the bike inner cable car to Sardagna and then descend by bike. There is not much to see apart from a nice view.

Embark on the Lower San Vili Trail - Stage 1, a moderate hike that begins with urban exploration before leading you into the natural landscapes of Trentino. This route spans 9.2 miles (14.8 km) and involves a notable elevation gain of 2109 feet (643 metres), typically requiring about 4 hours and 46 minutes to complete. You'll start by discovering the historic city of Trento, passing landmarks like Palazzo Thun and the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, before the path transitions to sunny fields and dense woods.

Planning your visit is straightforward, as the trail conveniently starts in Trento, making it easily accessible by public transport or car. While parking is generally available within the city, it's wise to check local regulations beforehand. The route is well-marked, guiding you smoothly from the city's cultural heart into the quieter natural surroundings.

This first stage serves as an excellent introduction to the historic Cammino San Vili, offering a unique blend of cultural heritage and outdoor adventure. It allows you to experience Trento's rich history, including sights like the Colorful Facade on Via Torre Verde, before immersing yourself in the diverse scenery that defines the broader San Vili Trail. It's a perfect way to begin your journey through the region.
