The Opacum Woods is a 266-acre conservation area with about four miles of hiking trails that take you through forests and wetlands, and past vernal pools, historic and prehistoric sites. Recently, there has been an abundance of beaver activity, which makes for both exciting wildlife viewing opportunities, and the potential for some trails becoming inaccessible (e.g. flooding or downed trees).
