The ship was laid down in 1962 by VEB shipyard "Neptun" in Rostock as one of eight structurally identical ships of the Framo Albatros series and used by the Deutsche Seereederei in Rostock under the name Condor in freight traffic on the Baltic Sea, North Sea and the Mediterranean .
After it was decommissioned in 1986, the Condor was converted into a swimming youth leisure center under the direction of Wolfdietrich Barmwoldt and in 1988 handed over to the GST-GST department “Young Sailors”.
