Schönebeck. Another record that Saxony-Anhalt can claim stands in Schönebeck. Fifty meters from the Elbe River, the warehouses extend along Salzblumenplatz. At 133 meters, they form the longest still inhabited half-timbered ensemble in Germany and Europe. The warehouses formerly served as salt storage sheds for the Royal Prussian Saltworks. The building was constructed in 1878. Today, the ensemble consists of a total of 25 condominiums in the terraced house style.
