A remote valley that reaches deep into the wild Carneddau, Cwm Pen-llafar makes for a wonderful approach to routes up onto Carnedd Dafydd. The Carneddau's highest summits rise at the end of the valley, the picturesque Afon Llafar chuckles down from the heights and there's always the chance you might encounter the region's semi-wild ponies. To access the valley, a path begins at Gerlan, above Bethesda.
