The Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest is one of the most important music academies in Europe and, at the same time, an outstanding Art Nouveau building in the city. It is located at Liszt Ferenc tér in the VI. district, near Andrássy Avenue.
The Academy was founded in 1875 by the world-famous Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt. The goal was to create a national training center for musicians and to promote Hungarian musical tradition. Liszt himself taught masterclasses there and significantly shaped the development of the institution.
