"The system was built in 2002 by an operating company in which a number of Wittesheim citizens also participated, at a cost of over two million euros. The generator in the machine house, which is driven by the three-bladed rotor with a diameter of 70 m, at a dizzying height of around 100 m, can generate up to 2.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. This can supply 750 households with 3300 KWh of electricity each."
