Very old Olive tree just off of the Mazerrón Via Verde in Pinilla. Maybe not a 1000 years old but it’s still called “Olivo milenario”.
Its origins seem to actually date back to the 15th century. It’s considered to be one of the three oldest olive trees in the Region of Murcia. Apparently at the height of its splendor, the tree reached up to 15 meters and produced 1200Kgs of olives.
Worth a stop as it’s just off the Cntra. Cuevas road by the Pinilla cemetery.
