The Plague Column or Trinity Column is a Baroque monument in the center of Piața Unirii (also Cathedral Square). The plague column type monument was created between 1739 and 1740 by the sculptor Georg Raphael Donner in Vienna and transported by water to Timișoara.
The statue was donated by Johann Anton Deschan von Hansen in gratitude for surviving the plague epidemic of 1738–1739. From 1994 to 1995 it was restored by Ion Oprescu. The pedestal depicted the three worst plagues that had struck Timișoara: the plague, the wars and the famine.
