The sandstone column with the statue of Saint James, also called the deer column, stands at the turnoff to Jelení skála. On the column there is a relief of a deer approaching a man in flowing robes and with a sword in his hand, representing Saint Giles. This relief, which is already heavily blurred today, probably represents the protector of forest solitude, St. Aegidius, under whose protection a deer pursued by a hunter takes refuge.
