Rühlow was always a pastor. In 1496 the priest was called Hinrich Hoppenrat. A church visitation 1661 found the church building newly covered, the chair work was still missing in part because the soldiers had burned it. Next to the church stood a wooden tower that was in need of repair. Even then Glienke and Sadelkow were branches. The church is a late medieval, formerly towerless boulder building from the beginning of the 16th century. The stepped square tower in the west is modern (around 1875).
